OmniGuard Privacy Policy
Privacy policy for the OmniGuard Shopify app.
OmniGuard (“the App”) provides “the Service” to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Information the App Collects
When you install the App, we are automatically able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account, such as your store name and domain, the details of the staff account used to open the App, and information about your products, collections, and pages so you can choose what each rule applies to.
We also store the rules and settings you create, along with anonymous records of how often a rule is triggered and unlocked. The App does not collect personal information about your customers — no customer names, email addresses, customer IDs, or IP addresses are stored.
When a shopper unlocks a protected page, the App saves a signed unlock pass in their browser’s local storage so they are not asked again. The pass holds only the rule it unlocks and when it expires, and contains no personal information.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
We use this information to operate the Service, to save and apply your settings, to display analytics about your own rules, to manage billing, and to communicate with you.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or to track visitors across other websites. We share information only with the service providers we use to host and operate the App. We may also share your information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.
Retention
Your settings are retained for as long as the App remains installed on your store. When you uninstall the App, our access to your store is removed right away, and about 48 hours later, when Shopify sends us your store’s erasure request, all records associated with your store are deleted.
Your Rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons.
