DPS Store Design Toolkit Privacy Policy
Privacy policy for the DPS Store Design Toolkit Shopify app.
Last updated: September 29, 2026
DPS Store Design Toolkit (“the App”, “we”, “us”) adds design and conversion features to Shopify stores. These include a back-to-top button, mobile menu, breadcrumbs, FAQs, comparison tables, custom fonts and a video gallery. This policy explains what information the App collects when a merchant installs it, how that information is used, and how it is deleted.
Information We Collect
When you install the App, we collect and store:
- Store details: your store’s myshopify.com domain, the access token Shopify issues to the App, and the permissions (scopes) you granted.
- Settings you configure: which features are turned on, plus the content and styling you enter for them. This includes colors, sizes, button text, menu items and links, FAQ questions and answers, and the products you choose to show.
- Subscription status: your store’s plan, which we read from Shopify to decide which features are available.
We do NOT collect or store:
- Personal information about your customers, such as names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses, orders or payment details.
- Personal information about you or your staff. The App does not store staff names or email addresses.
- Payment card information. All billing is handled by Shopify.
Shopify Permissions We Request
- Read products: lets you pick products for features such as the mobile menu and video gallery, and shows their details on your storefront. We store only references to the products you choose, not your catalog.
- Read themes: checks whether the App’s theme app embed is turned on and links you to the theme editor. The App never edits your theme files.
- Write files: uploads the videos and images you add in the App to your store’s Shopify Files. Shopify stores these files in your store, not on our servers.
How We Use Information
We use the information above only to:
- provide, display and save the features you set up
- check your subscription and unlock the features on your plan
- keep the App secure, fix problems and provide support
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Your Storefront Visitors
The App’s features run in your storefront through a Shopify theme app extension. The App does not track visitors, set tracking cookies or run analytics.
- Dark mode: if you enable it, each visitor’s light or dark choice is saved in their own browser’s local storage. It is never sent to us.
- Google Fonts: if you choose a Google Font, visitors’ browsers load it from Google, and Google may receive their IP address. See Google’s Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
- WhatsApp and social links: these send a visitor to that service only when clicked, and that service’s own privacy policy applies.
Who We Share Information With
- Shopify: for authentication, billing and file storage. See Shopify’s Privacy Policy: https://www.shopify.com/legal/privacy
- Our hosting and database providers: they store the App’s data on our behalf and may not use it for any other purpose.
- Authorities: when required by law or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Data Retention and Deletion
- When you uninstall the App, we immediately delete your store’s access token and cached subscription status.
- 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify sends us a data deletion request. We then permanently delete all remaining data for your store, including every setting you configured.
- Files you uploaded through the App stay in your store’s Shopify Files until you delete them there.
- We store no customer personal information, so customer data requests received through Shopify need no action from us. We will confirm this on request.
Security
All data is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections. We verify requests from Shopify using Shopify’s signatures, and access to our database is restricted. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and California, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you. You may also have the right to object to or restrict its use. To make a request, email us at the address below. You can also delete all App data at any time by uninstalling the App.
Our servers may be located outside your country. We transfer information internationally only as needed to provide the App.
Children
The App is intended for Shopify merchants and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when the App changes or when the law requires it. We will change the “Last updated” date above and notify you inside the App of significant changes.
